Berlin — a city built on openness — was made for this wedding. Shaun and Hendrik, an English-German couple, turned their weekend into a celebration of love that crossed every border: of countries, of languages, of traditions.
It began on Friday evening at the Spreespeicher, right on the river: friends and family from all over the world, glasses raised, the Oberbaum Bridge glowing in the sunset behind them. On Saturday morning, Soho House Berlin — one groom in a classic tuxedo, the other in magenta velvet, and the particular quiet before a very loud night.
Then DEEP Berlin, transformed: the team at Flores y Amores had built a floral installation that turned the industrial space into a blooming chuppah — thousands of flowers cascading over the two of them as they said their vows. Jewish tradition ran through the celebration, and when the glass was broken underfoot, the room answered with a roar of "Mazel tov!"
The party lasted until the early morning, the speeches came in two languages, and the dance floor understood its assignment. Two grooms, one city, and a love that needed no translation.
