Welcome

You Bring the Love Story. I Know the Terrain.

You have imagined it: a ceremony in a hall where chancellors once dined, portraits in a cobblestone old town at dusk, a first dance under centuries-old beams while your guests forget what time zone they are in. What you have not imagined is coordinating all of it from another continent.

That is where I come in. I am Matthias Friel, a wedding photographer based near Berlin, with more than two hundred weddings behind my camera since 2010. Many of them belonged to couples who flew in to marry here. I know the venues, the light, the paperwork and the small cultural differences that make or break a wedding abroad.

Why couples fly in

Three Reasons This Works

01

Experience You Can Verify

Over two hundred weddings since 2010, with extensive experience photographing couples who came from abroad to marry in Germany. Real galleries, real reviews, real references you can talk to.

02

Planning From Wherever You Are

Video calls in your time zone, timelines built together, venue scouting done for you. By the time you land in Frankfurt, everything is settled except your nerves.

03

More Than Photos

With a background in visual effects and motion design, I deliver imagery with a cinematic edge: photography, and on request films, that feel like stills from your own movie.

Two Families, Two Countries, One Day

Many of my couples are bringing together more than two people: two languages at the dinner table, two sets of traditions in one ceremony, guests arriving from cities that could not be further apart. I have photographed a tea ceremony and a ballroom first dance on the same weekend, and vows spoken in two languages in the same hour. Your day does not have to fit one template. It only has to fit you.

A Ballroom of a Hundred, or Just the Two of You

Some of my couples fill a grand ballroom with a hundred guests from around the world. Others say their vows with nobody but a witness and a forest. I photograph both with the same attention, and I will tell you honestly which one your vision actually wants to be.
